About our concrete contractor crew in Auburn

From a barn floor to Auburn driveways
I grew up on a family farm where nothing got replaced if it could be fixed, and the first concrete I ever poured was a barn floor. I learned the trade working on other crews, then started Sterling Auburn Concrete here in Auburn in 2013. Most of our calls come from homeowners, and the rest from builders and property owners who need a lot poured, a footing set or a clean cut through an old slab.
We're best known for slabs, driveways and foundations that sit flat and don't give you trouble later. That comes from the part nobody sees. The subgrade, the dirt and stone a slab sits on, matters more than anything on top, so that's where I spend the time, digging it out and packing it instead of raking it level and hoping. A nice finish on a lazy base just cracks on schedule, and a Maine winter will find a soft spot fast. I want your slab to still look right years from now, not just the day we pack up. You can see everything we pour on our home page.

What working with us is like
The person who quotes it runs the pour
I come out to look at your job and give the estimate, and I lead the crew that does the work. If something about the slab isn't right, you're talking to the guy who made the call, not passing a message down the line.
One contractor from the footings up
We handle the whole range, from a clean saw cut through an old slab to a full foundation. When your project needs footings, a slab and a set of steps, you deal with one crew instead of lining up three.
A straight answer, even an inconvenient one
If your job should wait or be done another way, I'll tell you, even when that means less work for us. Every estimate spells out what's in the price and what isn't, so you know exactly what you're comparing.
Licensing, insurance and permits
Serving Auburn and 11 surrounding cities
Licensed and fully insured
Licensed and fully insured. Concrete work means heavy trucks, saws and an open hole in your yard for a while, so ask to see our coverage at the estimate and we'll show you.
Permits checked before we book
Before we book a job, we check with the local permit office on what it needs, and when a permit is called for, we handle the application. In Auburn, building permits go to the Permitting and Code Enforcement department, drive entrance, fill and excavation permits go to Public Works, and the city sends questions about which permits a project needs to those two offices. Maine's building code covers every building built or renovated in the state, wherever the house sits.
Cities we work in
Sterling Auburn Concrete is based in Auburn, Maine, and we work in Lewiston, Portland and plenty of other cities around them. The 12 cities below each have their own page here, but that list isn't the edge of the map. If yours isn't on it, send us a note through the contact page and ask.
